BrownChicken BrownCow StringBand is a national touring band who’s roots originate in the Appalachian Mountains of southern West Virginia. The band features four multi-instrumental musicians that have spent over a decade traveling, writing and performing together. During that time they have created a rare and deep bond that can be observed in their music. During performance they listen and react to subtle nuances in each other’s playing, this invokes spontaneous ripples of creativity making their sound unique and distinguishable from performance to performance.

BrownChicken BrownCow StringBand – Creating New From Tradition – performs original music and the occasional classic from one of their influences. The songs and melodies are influenced by the band members and their varied musical background including Bluegrass, Gypsy, Folk, Old-Time, Celtic and even Classical. One of the strengths of this band is the devotion and level of support they receive from each other to grow, reach for new sounds, and approach music as a lifestyle.

It’s your chance to enjoy a rare Hilo concert by one of the Hottest String Bands from Hawai‘i performing at the mainlands coveted “Grassfire festival at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park, OH” summer concert circuit and sharing the stage with the likes of Del Mcoury band, Sam Bush band, Jerry Douglas, Younder Mountain and Peter Rowan in Ohio. They just booked August 4-5 with Nelson Ledges Quarry Park Grassfire Festival 2023.
