Synopsis: In the Heights is a vibrant musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda about the close-knit, largely Dominican-American community in New York City’s Washington Heights, exploring themes of family, love, heritage, and the dream of a better life amidst gentrification and change. It follows characters like bodega owner Usnavi, who dreams of returning to the Dominican Republic, and Nina Rosario, who returns from her first year at college with unexpected news, all set over a sweltering summer where dreams clash with reality.
