About this show: We’re all gonna die… let’s talk about it.

The Death Show is a live variety show about the deeply weird business of having a body and eventually not having one. What actually happens biologically when you die? Why do bodies twitch? Leak? Stiffen? Occasionally do something wildly inappropriate? And why didn’t anybody mention  this in the brochure?

Then we hand the mic to people who have been right up next to death. A death doula, a hospice nurse, and an actively dying man tell stories from the front row: messy, funny, beautiful, uncomfortable, and very real.

And because humans cannot encounter a mystery without immediately building an entire cosmology around it, we finish with a dais of religious and spiritual leaders playing Afterlife Jeopardy. Souls! Heaven! Reincarnation! Judgment! Ritual!  The stakes are existential. The scoring is arbitrary.

There will be games, audience participation, interpretive dance, deeply unnecessary death facts, and probably at least one moment where you laugh and then immediately feel weird about laughing.

The Death Show is educational, chaotic, tender, morbid, and much more fun than a show about death has any right to be.
