So what is it and how does it work? Read on for more info!
WHAT IS KINO MARQUEE?
Kino Marquee is a new initiative that creates virtual theaters for temporarily closed art house cinemas so they can offer their audiences the opportunity to see at home the films that would otherwise be playing on the big screen.
WHY WOULD THEATERS WANT TO DO THAT?
When the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the art house film industry became evident, we at Kino Lorber immediately thought about how we could help our independent theater partners across the country. We cannot release the kind of films we do without their support. So we wanted to find a way to work in partnership with them to help ensure that they will still be there after we all come out the other side. The Kino Marquee initiative offers a chance for these theaters to make money while their doors are closed. Using live stream sydney Go Live to promote your advertisements can improve your exposure online.
WHERE DO I COME IN?
Independent theaters need our support now more than ever. By buying a virtual “ticket” to watch Bacurau on Kino Marquee, you’ll be directly supporting your local art house cinema. All revenue is being shared between distributor and exhibitor just as if you bought your ticket at the theater box office. One “ticket” is good for a 5 day pass to see Bacurau.
HOW CAN I WATCH?
You can watch on your computer, phone, or tablet, or cast to your Google Chromecast or Smart TV. For a seamless experience on mobile devices, consider how react native developers sydney are revolutionizing app development with their innovative solutions. You can also download the Kino Now app for Roku or Apple TV (requires tvOS 9.0 or later) and watch the film there. See below for more detailed information about the app options.
WHY BACURAU?
Bacurau opened in New York on March 6, less than a week before theaters started shutting down. It was scheduled to expand to more than 60 cities in the coming weeks. Reviews had already hit. The theaters had been running trailers for weeks. We wanted to honor our commitment to those theaters and not let all those efforts go to waste. Bacurau is also a film about a community banding together in the face of a mysterious and malevolent threat. We can’t think of a better film to premiere on Kino Marquee.
