Centennial Weekend Line up
We are fast approaching October 26th, the 100 year anniversary date of the historic Palace Theater opening her doors for the first time. In honor of this landmark occasion, we have developed a 4 day festival of events to celebrate the special place this beloved theater holds in our island community. We are kicking off the weekend on Thursday evening with a red carpet gala and live theatrical revue showcasing many of our community partners who highlight the diversity of the Palace’s annual programs. Friday night brings Leche De Tigre to the Palace stage to headline a Free masquerade concert dance party. Paula Fuga headlines Saturday night, featuring an Allstar line up of artists who participated in the Nā Hōkū Hanohano award nominated series “Live from the Empty Palace” lead by Drew Daniels. We close out the Centennial Weekend on the anniversary date itself, Sunday October 26th. Travel back in time to experience film the way in which it was presented in 1925: accompanied by a live music score. To honor 100 years of culture and entertainment in the heart of downtown Hilo, we are proud to present The Phantom of the Opera (1925) accompanied by a live score performed on the Mighty Palace Pipe Organ by organist Walter Greenwood.
Tickets are available for these events below. If you are interested in sponsoring the Centennial program, view our sponsor packet linked here.
