Hana Hou with singer/songwriter/Empty Palace co-creator Drew Daniels. “Our New Life” was the very first performance filmed for the series. Inspired by the personal loss from the devastating 2018 volcanic eruption, Drew says “writing this song was my therapy as my family and I (along with our community as a whole) figure out what was going on and what we were going to do next.” The themes of this song ring true in a whole new light as our global community is trying to figure out what Our New Life will be moving forward from the pandemic.
