Thanks to you, we are now operating two ceiling fans to help cool the theater!
Last year, we began surveying our audiences and learned how important the Palace Theater is to our community. You told us you appreciated our great events and thoughtful programming, you loved our friendly and welcoming staff…and that despite our new air conditioning working hard, you also said that it was HOT in the theater.
Thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Atherton Family Foundation and over $10,000 in community donations, the Friends of the Palace Theater have installed two extra-large ceiling fans in the back of the auditorium to keep our patrons cool. The new fans are sleek and quiet, barely noticeable except for the gentle breeze they produce.
Mahalo nui to all of you who responded to our surveys, donated to the Fan Plan or spread the word about our campaign. We are working hard to revitalize, restore and sustain the historic Palace Theater as a venue that will educate, entertain and inspire you, our diverse community. We could not make the strides that we do toward fulfilling that mission without your support.
This year, our Centennial year, we are focusing on small efforts to revitalize the auditorium: patching holes in the ceiling, painting walls, replacing carpet and more. Stay tuned to learn how you can help!
Aloha,
Staff and Board of the Friends of the Palace Theater
